the link for the video is here

not youtube but ru tube. something i found out from my Greek friend. you can find this on youtube also.
ok todays focus is UKRAINE:
ok first of all i would like to point out that Ukrainian and Russian are simullar but i know for a fact that if you speak Ukrainian only Russian is hard to understand and if you speak Russian Ukrainian is hard to understand. it can be done but it is difficult.
now something interesting Ukraine is that sometimes people put Russian words into Ukrainian or Ukrainian words into Russian. this mixture is called surzhik. as i have read online from various sites that there are times when two Ukrainians and speaking to each other and they do not realize that one is speaking Russian and the other is speaking Ukrainian.
now for some info there is a part of Ukraine that was just added years ago that belonged to Russia. it is still mainly Russian speaking but it is Ukraine.
something Ukraine is also famous for is the pysanky. these are easter eggs that are very colorful and attractive. these beautiful eggs have been around for ages so if you get a chance make one or look online.
Ukrainian food is much like Russian in fact most Slavic food is the same but there are variations like in Russia we say varenyky in Ukraine it is either varenyky, pirohy, or pirogi in Poland it is commonly called warenyky. these are all little dumplings filled with various things from fruit and meat to vegetables and sweets.
now unlike Russian Ukrainian has some words of cossack origin.
EXAMPLE:
Russian arbus Ukrainian kavun English watermelon
ok well this is all i have posted i will be writing the 4-5 words i will be learning daily for the next week if i learn all the 30 then i will continue if not well i will keep trying to find more tips. until next time
