first enrty

ok well hi i am a 17 yr old teen who loves learning languages and i realy wanna shared tips i find that i think are col and work for me . fisrt my native language is english. second why am i choosing russian? well have you seen the country? it is amazing. i have never been but see on tv and movies and books and computer (thanks to youtube). check out some awesome videos there.
ok so now my question for you"do you wanna learn russian?"
here is a great site that helped me learn tons called russianpod101.com it is easy and free for the most part. and if you check out the main website u might find other stuff too like chinese japanese hebrew you get the idea.
any questions feel free to comment. ok now tips well i learned by listening to russian but active listening. DONT EVER TRY IT ANYWAY ELSE. dont believe the sleep and learn a language it doesnt work as well i have tried with dutch japanese and russian and well the only word the got in was gastronom or supermarket in russian. active listening is taking a time to listen and think on what is being said. another great resource is ISPEAK you can google it. made for ipod but u can use on mp3 plays as well. it is like a phrasebook but with audio amazon has this. now another thing is books they help tons i mean i know not many love to read but i mean we know english and how to read why not try other things. i am not talking about the idiot by doevsky but that is a good read. start with kids books magazines and easy stuff for me it was cookbooks( what can i say i love cooking). ok so good books for travel i would recommend the phrasebooks lonelyplant makes or check for the berlitz guides. for learning you cant go wrong with rough guides . thing about these phrasebooks is they are no more than 20 dollars the most. and rough guides has some audio to accompany the first few scenerios.

ok so last tip for now is to speak. speak it at home when no one understands you even if you speak little. write notes down in the language and practice using it as if you were going to learn it as your native and forget english. infact try not to use english there are great tips at this site http://www.fluentin3months.com/. yea he is not fluent but great tips.
